Bespoke iMDB modular wiring and integrated lighting control system project for a newly refurbished contemporary office building near Reading.
We are proud to have provided a bespoke modular wiring and integrated lighting control solution for the refurbishment of Building 210 at Winnersh Triangle, a thriving business park near Reading.
Our team provided a hard-wired iMDB modular wiring solution for the original building fit-out, including dynamic workspaces across two floors and a courtyard. The solution features all the capabilities of a larger control panel in a more sleek and compact design, with all products painted a custom black colour to blend effortlessly into the ceiling.
We then worked with Aecom on the second stage of the project for Hewlett Packard Enterprises, which let office space on the ground floor. Our team extended the iMDB modular wiring solution using our TC-Switch-Module to run all switches and scene plates directly to a plug-in in the ceiling. We designed this product specifically to cost-effectively connect networks of scene plates and passive infrared sensors (PIRs) to existing DALI lighting systems for intelligent building control.
As with the initial wiring system, this bespoke solution features a head-end PC with emergency monitoring, providing seamless building-wide control with a sleek, compact design. Plus, we supplied an RS232 audiovisual (AV) integrator to connect AV and lighting systems, allowing them to communicate and enable users to automatically adjust the light in a room via pre-set levels on a panel.
The ground floor of Building 210 also has impressive base-to-ceiling glass windows, allowing lots of natural light to flood in during the day. As such, light fixtures on the ground floor are grouped in rows with built-in mini sensors to dim the light in response to changing conditions — or turn off in areas where desks are not occupied. By doing so, we achieved the optimum light level required at desk height to create a more energy-efficient, human-centric design.
